WLKY: “Community leaders in Louisville say they are shocked and stunned after 21-year-old Quintez Brown was arrested for allegedly trying to kill mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg.
“A lot of us are just struggling to make sense out of all this, but sometimes you simply cannot make sense out of things that simply do not make sense,” Louisville poet and activist Hannah Drake said. “And for me, I just think about Quintez as someone to me who needs help and I hope that he gets it.
“I can’t think of anyone that had any issues with Craig Greenberg. Craig Greenberg is just a very nice, non-divisive person and many of us know his family, many of us know him so that hurt for that to happen to him. We were saddened that that happened to him and we are saddened for what’s happening to Quintez, so on both sides, this is just a sad day, I believe, for Louisville,” Drake added.
Drake has known Brown for years – first as an emerging leader in anti-violence efforts then as one of the youngest leaders during the 2020 Breonna Taylor protests.
“It is hard to lead for a day, a month, a year, and you never know what pre-existing situations people have,” Louisville Urban League President Sadiqa Reynolds said.”
