Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp — speaking on the sidelines of the Masters — issued a blunt warning to his party about the 2026 midterms:
“Even JD Vance is saying, ‘Hey, I’m not focused on 2028.’ We all need to focus on 2026 to hold the House, hold the Senate. We want to get our Senate seat back in Georgia.”
“It’s going to be very close to rewin our governor’s race in Georgia, to get back our U.S. Senate race. That is what we need to focus on. I’m not focused on anything other than that right now.”
Kemp pointed to Democratic Party “energy” and said his party needs a change of pace at the top of the ticket.
