WECT: “Behind the barbed wire fence at Columbus Correctional Institution, offenders are creating the first podcast of its kind in North Carolina. The podcast, called ‘First Voice,’ gives offenders a platform to share their stories and experiences while learning skills they can use after release. ‘We are the voiceless, nobody knows what we think or how we move or how we want to impact the world. We are American citizens too and we want to contribute to society. Just give us the tools that we need to achieve that, and we’ll do it,’ said Martavious Curry, one of the participants.”
