KNWA: “A protest was held on March 31 that included a march to city hall and eventually to outside of Tyson Foods in Springdale.
A general strike and protest were held by Venceremos, a worker-led organization advocating for the rights of meatpacking employees.
Protestors marched for better treatment and recognition of immigrants in the industry from their employers like Tyson Foods and the Arkansas government.
“Everything that is happening in the world, we need to go back to being humans and to have that empathy for others, especially knowing these workers have not done anything but to put themselves at risk in order to bring food to our tables,” said Venceremos executive director Magaly Licolli.”
