WaPo: “An advertising company in charge of displaying House Democrats’ billboards accusing Republicans in competitive districts of voting to cut Medicaid and give tax breaks to Elon Musk took them down after House Republicans’ campaign arm sent a cease-and-desist letter on Wednesday.
House Majority Forward, the issue advocacy arm of the Democratic super PAC called House Majority PAC, launched six billboards on Tuesday in vulnerable Republicans’ districts, including those of Reps. Gabe Evans (Colorado), Don Bacon (Nebraska), Ryan Mackenzie (Pennsylvania), Monica De La Cruz (Texas), Jen Kiggans (Virginia) and Rob Wittman (Virginia) according to a report by the Washington Examiner.
The billboards, which were announced on Tuesday, claimed the Republicans “voted to cut Medicaid to give billionaires like him tax cuts,” referring to Musk, who was also featured on the billboard. Shortly after launch, the National Republican Campaign Committee sent a letter to Lamar Advertising Co., warning it “will be liable for the defamatory messages spread to voters in each district.””
