Arkansans show up for nationwide protest against President Trump, Project 2025 agenda
Pride flags, signs in Spanish and chants like “Dump Trump” characterized a protest on the steps of the state Capitol Wednesday afternoon where at least 200 Arkansans voiced their opposition to national leadership.
The protest was a local grassroots effort shared widely on social media like Facebook and Reddit, but the rally was also part of a larger movement from 50501 against President Donald Trump and the Project 2025 agenda.
Demonstrators at the Tennessee Capitol join national protest against Trump policies
Nearly 150 people demonstrated at the Tennessee Capitol on Wednesday afternoon as part of a nationwide effort called the “50501” protest, which called for protests against the Trump administration at all 50 states’ capitols on the same day.
The newly created movement is the product of a social media campaign similarly titled “50501,” which represents the call to action for 50 states, at 50 capitols, on one day.
Other Wednesday protests across the country have drawn thousands of people at many states’ capitols.
Hundreds gather in Frankfort to protest Trump, his administration
In Frankfort, more than 200 people descended on Kentucky’s Capitol. Organized under the name 50501, short for 50 protests, 50 states, one day, the events came together through posts made online and on sites such as Reddit.
Crowds carried signs calling for Elon Musk’s arrest, opposing fascism and upholding the Constitution.
“Largely, I think the voice of the common man has not been heard over the course of the action over this presidency so far,” said protester Jake Lederman. “I think a lot of things have been done to hurt a lot of people that are not at the root cause of what the problems the majority of Americans are facing today.”

Hundreds of people gathered Wednesday at the Capitol to protest the Trump administration and Project 2025, a conservative plan to enact sweeping change within the federal government.
“Being around people who still believe that immigrants are great, and that we can gather and we’re not gonna get rounded up and arrested for being here is nice,” Kate Lincoln-Goldfinch, an Austin-based immigration attorney, said. “Do I feel confident that it’s gonna be like that at the end of this term? Not really.”
Thomas Gomez had pulled his children, aged 7 and 9, out of school to attend. He set up a blanket with water, snacks, paper and markers – “all the essentials.”
”I think they need to see this. It’s important for them to understand what’s really important in life,” he said. “Education is important, but I feel like this will teach them a lot more than what they would be learning in school today.”
Protesters in Alabama & other states rally against Trump’s policies, Project 2025 and Elon Musk
Demonstrators gathered in cities across the U.S. on Wednesday, including in Alabama, to protest the Trump administration’s early actions, decrying everything from the president’s immigration crackdown to his rollback of transgender rights and a proposal to forcibly transfer Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
In the Yellowhammer State, several hundred people gathered outside the Statehouse to protest actions targeting LGBTQ+ people.
On Tuesday, Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey promised to sign legislation declaring that there are only two sexes, male and female — echoing Trump’s recent executive order for the federal government to define sex as only male or female.
“The president thinks he has a lot of power,” the Rev. Julie Conrady, a Unitarian Universalist minister, told the crowd. “He does not have the power to determine your gender. He does not have the power to define your identity.”

Hundreds gathered across the country in large cities, including many state capitals for 50501.
“50 States, 50 Protests, One Day” is a movement across the nation protesting Project 2025.
Rallygoers were outside the South Carolina State House on Wednesday calling on lawmakers inside to listen and consider opposition to any bill that aligns with the policies described in the project.
“Everything is going to get worse from here, they are moving quickly, we need to move quickly as well,” said Blake Justice, one of the protest organizers.

Dozens of demonstrators gathered outside the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta on Wednesday as part of a nationwide protest against President Trump and his administration’s policies.
The protesters chanted and waved various signs about President Donald Trump, billionaire and leader of Trump’s new Department of Government Efficiency Elon Musk, and efforts to deport people who are in the country illegally.

Thousands of peaceful protesters encircled the North Carolina State Capitol in Raleigh for hours Wednesday as part of a nationwide movement opposing President Donald Trump and his agenda.
A sea of banners, signs, and slogans surrounded both the Capitol and Legislative Building — with demonstrators flying American, Mexican, and Canadian flags in protest of Trump. The event was part of the “50 Protests, 50 States, 1 Day” (50501) rally movement that erupted across the U.S. Wednesday afternoon. Passing cars and trucks honked in support as protesters jeered Trump and his policies.
North Carolinians marched counterclockwise around the Capitol and chanted in support of LGBTQ+ and reproductive rights, protection for immigrants, and in opposition to “Project 2025,” the conservative policy plan that dominated headlines throughout the 2024 presidential election.
