A <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/20971861-121-cv-00568-complaint-cervini-vs-stapp?responsive=1&amp;title=1\" target=\"_blank\">second complaint<\/a>\u00a0accuses the San Marcos Police Department <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/20971861-121-cv-00568-complaint-cervini-vs-stapp?responsive=1&amp;title=1\" target=\"_blank\">of failing to protect<\/a> the campaign bus and the cars accompanying it to campaign events in Texas, \u201cdespite repeated calls for help,\u201d the suit notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both complaints were filed Thursday in the Western District of Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe filed this lawsuit because everyone should be able to engage in peaceful political activity <a href=\"https:\/\/txcivilrights.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/TT-Press-Release.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">free from fear, intimidation, or threats of violence<\/a>,\u201d former Texas Democratic state Sen. Wendy Davis \u2014 who was on the campaign bus when it was swarmed \u2014 said in a statement of the lawsuit against members of the Trump train.
