The ruling came one week after the U.S. Department of Justice filed a motion asking the court to dismiss the charges \u2014 saying the government had undertaken a &#8216;further review&#8217; and determined &#8216;this case should be dismissed in the interest of justice.&#8217; A DOJ spokesperson called the charges &#8216;inappropriate, weaponized federal overreach.&#8217; Taylor&#8217;s mother, Tamika Palmer, was not mollified: &#8216;She was killed because of their lies and negligence, and somebody should be held accountable for that. Breonna doesn&#8217;t get to come back. She doesn&#8217;t get to put it behind her.
