Greg Abbott (R), who uses a wheelchair, as \u201cGovernor Hot Wheels.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Crockett made the remark Saturday at a Human Rights Campaign dinner in Los Angeles as part of a broader dig at the Texas governor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cY\u2019all know we got Governor Hot Wheels down there. Come on now. And the only thing hot about him is that he\u2019s a hot a&#8211; mess, honey,\u201d Crockett said to applause from the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abbott, 67, was paralyzed at age 26 after a tree fell on him while he was on a run, damaging his spinal cord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Tuesday, Crockett did not directly respond to reporters\u2019 questions about her remarks as she walked onto the House floor, saying only that her comment at Saturday\u2019s event \u201cspeaks for itself.\u201d&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WaPo: &#8220;Rep.
