Andy Harris, the chairman of the Freedom Caucus, made the comments at a dinner on Thursday, saying the idea \u201cmakes a lot of sense\u201d because the western part of the state, a rural area where Trump is popular, is still dealing with the impact of Hurricane Helene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201cYou statistically can go and say, \u2018Look, you got disenfranchised in 25 counties. You know what that vote probably would have been,\u2019\u201d Harris said\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/IvanRaiklin\/status\/1849663014829466042\">in a video<\/a>\u00a0posted on Twitter. \u201cWhich would be \u2014 if I were in the legislature \u2014 enough to go, \u2018Yeah we gotta convene the legislature. We can\u2019t disenfranchise the voters.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Harris said the following in a statement: \u201cYesterday\u2019s theoretical conversation has been taken out of context. As I\u2019ve repeatedly said, every legal vote should be counted.
